The MI-WHIP Study (Michigan Water Polo Head Impact Perceptions) is a research project involving high school water polo players in Southeastern Michigan, ran in collaboration with the University of Michigan Concussion Center. We are surveying high school water polo players and their parents across to better understand perceptions and histories toward concussions and head injuries.
Our focus is on identifying the gap between concussions that are self-reported and the frequency of short-term head impacts that athletes experience during a season. Both players and parents will complete separate versions of the survey, and completing both is necessary for participation.
If you choose to participate, your responses will be kept completely confidential and protected. We are analyzing responses, not the players and parents giving those responses.
The study only takes about 10–15 minutes to complete at longest, and participants will be entered into a raffle for free USA Water Polo gear — including caps, balls, towels, and more!
To participate, please complete the email entry below. From there, we will email you a consent form and the survey.
